The Marsh Survey: Licence 2005-009 Borden Number BaGd-3

The George A. Marsh was choosen as the third survey site as it combined a number of elements from the previous two surveys with the addition of the notion or scale. The Marsh is somewhat larger than our target site of the PPK wreck off of Picton but it is a schooner with much the same shape as the PPK site. It was thus decided that this would be the final mock up run with the following objectives:

  • Lay in an up line system to deploy safety and deco gasses on
  • Pre set the photograhers grid
  • Lay baseline and set datum points
  • Photograph the site in order to produce mosaics
  • Video tape the site
  • Produce a site map

Since this was a rather well known site there was little researce necessary. The survey was conducted on the Aug 9, 2005 and was an exceptional sucess from the view point of practicing the protocols. Data collection was hampered somewhat due to being chased off of the lake by a thunderstorm. The complete report is due to be complete in late January.
