The ultimate goal of the TEST team in 2005 was to spend four days conducting a survey on the PPK wreck which lies in 150'(45m) off the southern shore of Picton. The goals are the same as the previous survey's but are complicated vastly by the depth and location.
Depth factor: In taking this into consideration we decided that bottom divers would be broken out into discrete teams and allowed a maxium bottom time of 30 minutes per dive and two dives a day. All bottom divers would be fully supported both top side and with the use of safety divers.
Location is a huge issue as it is 'way out there' almost in the main shipping channel. This makes diver delivery, maintence and recovery a challenge.
The survey was scheduled for the third week end of September 2005. In the end mother nature proved to be caprecious as ever and we were blown off till too late in the season to safely make another attempt.
The next primary target date for this site is the second week end of May 2006 with an alternate of the last week end of May 2006.
